Creating opportunities through learning, mentorship & community.
Project Udaan is a student-led initiative supporting children from underserved communities through learning, mentorship, workshops, educational resources and community engagement.
AN IDEA, GROWING SINCE 20222022 — 2026

Project Udaan began as an idea during Grade 9 and gradually developed into a continuing social impact initiative. Curiosity about the challenges faced by children from underserved communities evolved through research, volunteering, experimentation and sustained involvement.
In collaboration with an NGO, the initiative creates learning and engagement opportunities while helping me understand the realities of community work.
Supporting children’s learning through educational activities and resources.
Creating workshops, activities and mentoring opportunities.
Helping children access knowledge, encouragement and opportunities.
The idea began in 2022, when I was in Grade 9. I didn’t have a fully developed project. I simply wanted to understand how students like me could contribute meaningfully to the education and development of children with fewer opportunities.
Instead of immediately starting an initiative, I spent the following year researching the issue and exploring what meaningful involvement could look like.
In 2024, during Grade 11, I began turning the idea into action by working with an NGO and becoming directly involved with children and community-based activities.
This experience taught me that social impact is not only about giving resources. It is also about consistency, listening, understanding individual needs and creating opportunities for children to participate and learn.
A personal story, still being written.
IDEA → RESEARCH → ACTION → CONTINUITY → GROWTH
The idea took shape: how could a student contribute meaningfully to children’s learning and development?
Researched the issue, explored community needs and considered thoughtful ways to get involved.
Began implementing the initiative in collaboration with an NGO through educational and community activities.
Continued the work, taking on broader responsibilities and developing a more considered approach.
Still involved: reflecting on what the work asks of me and how it can become more meaningful and sustainable.

I am Bhavya Gupta, a student who began exploring social impact while I was in Grade 9. What began as an idea in 2022 gradually developed into a long-term initiative through research, volunteering and direct community engagement.
I am currently taking a gap year and continuing to work on the project while reflecting on what I have learned and exploring how I can make the initiative more structured and meaningful.
Project Udaan is not a finished project. It continues to evolve through experience, reflection and continued engagement with the community.
I began with an idea in Grade 9. Research helped me understand the problem. Action taught me what community work actually requires. Today, I am continuing the journey with a clearer understanding of responsibility, consistency and meaningful impact.
Project Udaan keeps growing through experience, reflection and the people who show up.
